Al Horno Lean Mexican Kitchen

Welcome to Al Horno Lean Mexican Kitchen, a gem nestled in the heart of Hell's Kitchen at 673 9th Ave, New York, NY 10036. With a focus on health-conscious ingredients without compromising flavor, Al Horno is redefining what it means to enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine in a balanced way.

As a food reviewer, I had the pleasure of exploring their vibrant menu, which features an array of all-day vegan burritos, soups, and refreshing juices. Among their standout offerings are:

  • Holy Mole Burrito: This delight combines black beans, corn pico, brown rice, a sprinkle of vegan cheese, and their signature vegan mole sauce. At just US$12.95, it’s a flavorful tribute to authenticity with a healthier twist.
  • Al Vegano Burrito: A fresh blend of black beans, brown rice, tomato pico, and creamy avocado sauce, perfect for a nutritious yet satisfying meal.
  • Kind Buffalo Burrito: For those craving a kick, this burrito packs a punch with vegan buffalo sauce and fresh ingredients.
  • Vegan Soups: Options like Vegan Vegetable and Spicy Jalapeno are perfect for lighter meals or as sides, each priced at US$6.95.

But what really sets Al Horno apart is their commitment to freshness and customer satisfaction. Patrons rave about the generous portion sizes—many finding their burritos so hefty that they often have leftovers for later. One customer, Justin Liew, shared that he enjoyed a complimentary smoothie with his meal, noting the excellent value for this bustling area. Plates are crafted with care, ensuring that lean meats or vegan substitutes maintain the flavors synonymous with traditional Mexican fare.

Moreover, the ambiance of Al Horno enhances the dining experience. There’s a friendly vibe, with staff who are eager to accommodate dietary preferences without loss of taste. Dario Socci expressed his delight at having a great lunch, highlighting the healthy but delicious offerings.

For those on the go, Al Horno Lean Mexican Kitchen is not just a meal; it’s an experience that caters to health-conscious eaters and food lovers alike. Whether you're in for a quick lunch or a satisfying dinner, you'll leave feeling nourished and happy. Don’t miss out on this vibrant eatery; your taste buds will thank you!

Friendly service. Got a free smoothie with my burrito, amazing value for this area. Food is fresh, healthy, and delicious. They pay attention to detail eg egg whites, lean meat, low fat cheese

Finally stopped by for a burrito. Ordered the double protein with chicken and steak which came with a free smoothie of your choice. The Burrito was packed with ingredients but not heavy. Quinoa instead of rice goes a long way for the glucose levels and fullness feeling. Total price was just under 20. Nowadays you get far less for 20 than you do at this place. Fully recommend.

There's Good choices here. There are lean choices but they include non lean things if desired. The portions are a good size and leftovers can be had. There's different meat choices as well as vegan and vegetarian options. The food was hot and the meat was cooked well. The ingredients come together we'll. There is plenty of option for making it spicy too if that's your gig.

Very healthy menu options and friendly staff. I go here regularly for lunch. Short walk to the pier or central park! Double protein with red sauce on the side (quinoa instead of rice!) and banana peanut butter smoothie with protein added. Delicious
